Our Mission
The Golden Lotus Kung Fu Academy is a closed door Traditional school of the Chinese Martial Arts. The term "closed door" relates to the Academy's enrollment policy. The term we use is Siren Guan (私人馆) because the literal translation, Bimen Guan (闭门馆), doesn't capture the essence of the meaning of the term in English.
The term indicates that we do not simply sell our martial traditions.Though there are techniques that a student can learn, we do not sell rank, or the traditional treasures of our kung fu to anyone. Though we do teach with a hold nothing back philosophy we are selective with who is eligible for this sacred trust.
To be eligible one must be dedicated to the art, be of good character and spirit, and demonstrate a willingness to carry on our lineage. Our program cultivates within its students confidence, leadership, public speaking, self-awareness, discipline, honor, integrity, respect, and strength of character.
内外相合，外重手眼身法步，
内修心神意气力。
Translation: Train both Internal and External. External training includes the hands, the eyes, the body and stances. Internal training includes the heart, the spirit, the mind, breathing and strength.
